Uptown Plain City Revitalization Plan

The Uptown Plain City Organization (UPCO) received a Tier I grant in order to develop a revitalization plan for the downtown historic district. Subsequently, the Poggemeyer Design Group did an extensive downtown assessment as well as a community survey. This information has been pulled together in an excellent overview of resources, assessment of conditions, and "possibilities" for improvement. It is currently proceeding through approval by the UPCO Board, and will then be presented to the Village Council for approval by Plain City.

This is the first step in developing a revitalization plan, which leads to another critical part of planning, that is, what should our Uptown area look like in the future, and where we should put those "possibilities". These issues include:

  • Building Use
  • Land Use
  • Historic Resources
  • Parking Facilities
  • Land Use Plan (future)
  • Gateways & Focal Points
  • Pedestrian Circulation Plan
  • Signage Plan
  • Streetscape Plan
